    RECIPE INTRODUCTION

If you’re in a hurry like me many times, or just lazy, why not whip up a delicious protein shake loaded with all the right stuff (i.e., vitamins, minerals, fiber, and other good-for-you ingredients). Making a shake in the morning takes literally five minutes and you’re off to start your day!

So, when it comes to (protein) shakes, you've got several choices. For ME, what I like to do is make the kind of protein shake that actually benefits ... MY HAIR too! Let me explain ... You see, I already eat enough protein from all the right dietary choices I make. (i.e., what I eat on a daily basis) What I (really) wanted was something that could help me maintain (and grow) healthy hair and I found it! Check this out ...

    EQUIPMENT NEEDED

For me, I'll get out the following kitchen items to make myself one of these amazing shakes.

❑  NINJA BLENDER OR REGULAR BLENDER What kind of blender do you have? Any regular blender will do, but if you can afford it, get yourself a NINJA BLENDER. They’re powerful, convenient, fast, and easy to clean.

    TYPES OF PROTEIN

Take your pick. I like to use the NaturesPlus® Ultra Hair Thick-Shake powder in my shakes most of the time.

❑  Nutiva Organic, Cold-Processed Hemp Protein from non-GMO, Sustainably Farmed Canadian Hempseed. High in fiber, this is a great protein powder solution for your protein shake if you like.

❑  Pea Protein: A better option than soy, this too is a great protein to use if you come across it in the store.

❑  Mixed Plant Proteins: Offer quality vitamins, minerals, and fats.

❑  Whey Protein: Comes from milk and is considered a complete protein as it contains all 9 essential amino acids. It’s low in lactose content.

❑  Casein Protein: Like whey, comes from milk and is a slow digesting protein. Best to take before bed.

❑ NaturesPlus Ultra Hair Thick Shake powder is what I default to when making my "protein" shake 1-3 days per week. This "hair shake" powder is AMAZING FOR YOUR HAIR. I've been using this very brand for 20+ years. My experience goes like this: ( #1 ) I'll have a "hair shake" (yummm), ( #2 ) within 24-36 hours, my hair feels and looks fuller. So, for me, when I include all the other ingredients in my hair shake, such as almonds, a banana, mixed frozen berries, some flaxseed powder, among other items, blend it up, and yummmm!!! This shake, and any other kind, are great to have after a workout! They cool you down and they're good for you!

❑ Amazing Grass Greens Blend Antioxidant: Super Greens Powder Smoothie Mix with Organic Spirulina, Beet Root Powder, Elderberry, Bilberry, Prebiotics & Probiotics, Sweet Berry, 30 Servings. Packed with two (2) full servings of wholesome fruits, vegetables, vitamins & minerals in every scoop, this Greens Blend powder ensures you are getting the right amount of nutrients to support overall health and immunity.

★ 1 Banana (Potassium, magnesium, regularity, etc.)

★ 1 Cup Frozen Mixed Berries (Chills shake, adds berry flavor!)

★ 1 small scoop or Tbsp of some kind of green powder such as Amazing Grass Greens Blend Antioxidant mentioned above. This just adds a kick of veggies into your shake. Cool!
