SECTION 3 → PART 17
Seminar / Book Signing Flyer
EXTENDED BOOK CHAPTER #10 from MY SELF-PUBLISHING MANUAL by Bart Smith
INTRODUCTION & WHAT TO DO
When it comes to packing the seats for your upcoming book seminar, class, workshop, or live book signing, a striking 8.5" x 11" flyer remains one of your most powerful offline weapons. While digital marketing is essential, a physical flyer placed directly in the hands of a prospect or pinned to a high-traffic community bulletin board commands undivided, real-world attention.
To cut through the daily noise and force people to stop and read, your print collateral must be structured as a high-converting sales tool rather than a generic announcement. Replicating the strategic layout, compelling copy blocks, and unmissable visual hooks detailed below allows you to transform standard paper sheets into high-impact marketing engines that capture immediate local interest, build intense local anticipation, and guarantee a packed room for your next live appearance.
By the way, you can easily create these flyers inside Canva.com (or Microsoft Word, Affinity, InDesign, etc.). Create a custom sized document that’s 8.5” x 11” and leave .25” inside the border empty to allow for printing on a regular printer or at the local printer. Can be black and white or color. Your choice. Once done, in Canva, download the flyer as a single PDF page and print it on your personal printer or take it down to the local printer on a USB thumb drive and print it there.
