Self-Publishing Video Tutorials
I've been self-publishing my books and those of my clients for almost 20 years. Here's what I've learnnnned in that time and what you can too after you watch my self-publishing video mtc-layout-video-mtc-layout-video-tutorials on the following topics. Happy learnnnning!
KDP/Amazon Self-Publishing
Video Tutorials

For years, I've used KDP.com (Kindle Direct Publishing via Amazon.com) to print and sell my eBooks, paperback books and hardback books. Well, after you watch my KDP video mtc-layout-video-mtc-layout-video-tutorials and you see how the whole process works., I challenge you to publish your own eBooks/books there as well.
I cover how to create your account, add your first title, upload manuscript and cover files, set selling price and preferences, and then submit your files for review. Once blessed, you can order "Author Copies", which you'll proof, make changes and resubmit new corrected files until you're ready to publish your book fully on Amazon and 20,000+ other third-party book resellers online.

When it comes to self-publishing, I've used many of the following pieces of software to help me goals self-publishing my books. I might use Affinity Designer to design my book covers or Affinity Publisher to lay out the interior pages of my books. I like using CutePDF to edit my PDF book files in preparation for sending them to the printer. So, that said, enjoy these other mtc-layout-video-mtc-layout-video-tutorials as well.
Affinity Designer

The program is a lot like Adobe Fireworks, which was my go-to program for designing all my book covers, my clients' book covers, YouTube thumbnails, banners, buttons, you name it ... Seriously, Affinity Designer rocks!
Affinity Designer gives you the power to combine your images, graphics and text to make amazing vector images for use on the Web, in video or in print.
Also, Designer is a one-time purchase piece of software, unlike Adobe's Photoshop, Illustrator or Fireworks which requires a monthly subscription.
Affinity Publisher

The program is a lot like Adobe's InDesign, but so much better! For me, this is my go-to software program to lay out the interior pages for all my books (and my clients' books).
Whether you want to design books, magazines, marketing materials, to social media templates, website mock-ups and other projects, Affinity Publisher gives you the power to combine your images, graphics and text to make beautiful layouts ready for publication and printing.
Also, Publisher is a one-time purchase piece of software, unlike Adobe's InDesign which requires a monthly subscription.
CutePDF Pro & CutePDF Editor

If you need to edit, manipulate, add pages, delete pages or other editing functions inside a PDF document, here's the software I use: CutePDF.
Now, I have the Pro version, which I bought years ago; one-time purchase, love those. But, they also have an online tool you can use to accomplish the same thing and it's FREE. It's called CutePDF Editor.
Watch my mtc-layout-video-mtc-layout-video-tutorials and see which one best serves your needs.
By the way, these two (CutePDF) options do exactly what Adobe Acrobat Pro or Adobe Acrobat DC does. So, this way, you don't have to subscribe to Adobe.com to be able to perform these very basic and routine PDF edit and manipulation functions.
Adobe InDesign

Here’s the program I use to lay out all of my paperback / hardback books (on the inside) for submission to the printer, as well as create gorgeous order forms, flyers and other documents for various uses.
InDesign is not a free program, but one you purchase through Adobe.com CC (Creative Cloud). Is it worth getting? Absolutely if you plan on writing your own books and want to learnnnn how to lay out the inside of the book with your written manuscript and much more.
I’ve saved thousands upon thousands of dollars laying my own books out with InDesign as opposed to hiring someone to do it for me. If you’re going to write your book in Microsoft Word, you might as well learnnnn this program too.
Also, if your editor has InDesign, you can simply share the InDesign file and they can make their edits right into your InDesign file. I’ve done that before with my editor, and it saves a lot of time. That is, if your editor knows InDesign.
Adobe Fireworks

Fireworks has to be THE MOST UNDERRATED GRAPHICS PROGRAM of ALL TIME! Why Adobe.com doesn’t give Fireworks more credit I have no idea.
BUT, all you need to know is that I use this program 99% of the time to create, edit, save, and convert practically every image, graphic, banner, button, mock web layout, book cover, … you name it, I use Fireworks for virtually EVERYTHING when it comes to graphic design and image edit.
When you see my video mtc-layout-video-mtc-layout-video-tutorials, you’ll see why and you’ll want to get your own copy of Fireworks for your use if you dabble in graphics and images as heavy as I do.
This is not a free program, but one you purchase through Adobe.com.
Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional

I use this program to view, edit and customize PDF’s that I generate for my books before I send them to the printer or PDF files that I simply have to read/review. This is not a free program, but one you purchase through Adobe.com.
