Are you marketing the right way to find your ideal client? Check out my R.A.S.T.O. formula for marketing!
by Bart Smith
While most coaches (and other business owners) dread the idea of marketing their own coaching and consulting services to others, they really don’t understand how simple that task really is. I came up with an acronym for marketing (to find new clients) that I think nails it! I call it:
R.A.S.T.O.
R = Research where your market is. Find where they congregate or hangout. Observe. Study their habits, buying patterns, conversations, likes/dislikes, read popular topics to find out and assess what their issues are.
A = Ask a top influencer (i.e., social media influencer, blog owner, YouTube channel owner, podcast host, newsletter/eZine publisher, website owner, radio/TV talk show host/producer, etc.) to interview you and/or introduce you to that market.
S = Show up (i.e., don’t miss your opportunity) …
T = Tell your story. Be prepared for the interview and plan to integrate how you have helped clients with related issues and concerns.
O = Offer the audience members (i.e., listeners, subscribers, viewers, etc.) either something for FREE or for SALE. Give them a no charge opportunity to get to know you via something free gift, such as, “Go to my website now and download my FREE _____ (report, eBook, self-assessment form, etc.). Those who do, will also be entered into a free coaching session with me.” Be creative.
When my R.A.S.T.O. marketing formula is put into place, all you need then is to implement these steps on a daily/weekly basis and you should be running into your fair share of client prospects in no time!
Then, with a personal recommendation from someone within these groups exposing you to potentially more prospects who might accept your (offer) to learn more about you, look out! If you did a good job at telling your story (how you help people), why wouldn’t the right people be ready to contact you for help? What’s more? Why couldn’t you repeat this formula over and over with an unlimited number of groups? Exactly!
R.A.S.T.O. comes straight out of my book, Rich Coach Broke Coach, a “rich” coaching manual for every coach to rely on to help them explode their coaching business. Inside this 200+ page fortress of knowledge is nothing but information and training for coaches in the areas they need it most: business practices, marketing, setting fees, creating coaching packages, overcoming objections, finding clients, working with clients, and so much more! No fluff, just pure meat and potatoes in these areas.
