RECIPE INTRODUCTION
So much is said about what we should be eating for breakfast, how much, when and all that jazz, such as, eat a big breakfast to last you all day or don’t skip breakfast.
The question becomes, “What should you eat for breakfast?” With so many opinions, one thing I’ve discovered is that I don’t like to eat a lot of food in the morning.
So, when it comes to breakfast, I’m pretty simple, that is, unless I’m presented with the opportunity to eat a stack of 5-10 pancakes. Then I’m totally a bad boy.
Most of the time though, I’d be very happy with just a small plate or bowl of sliced fruit in the morning, whether it is an apple, orange, some pineapple, a banana, berries, a few red grapes or a combination of any of those.
What I like about this breakfast option is that it’s simple, quick, I don’t have to think about it, and I get everything apples (in particular) have to offer nutritionally. Now, for those who don’t like apples, I don’t particularly like them either, BUT I know they’re good for me, so I eat them anyway. My favorite? FUJI apples. Try ‘em!
EQUIPMENT NEEDED
As for me, I'll get out the following kitchen items to help make myself a quick fruit bowl (or plate).
❑ FRUIT/VEGGIE WASH A vegetable wash to clean and remove any dust, dirt, wax and/or pesticides from fruit and vegetables before you consume them.
❑ PLATE OR BOWL → I prefer a small bowl myself, but plates will do too. Place your sliced fruit pieces in the bowl (or on the plate). Then, feast away!
❑ SMALL FORK OR SPOON → I'm not going to eat my newly sliced fruit with my fingers, and you shouldn't either. So, get yourself a small fork or spoon. Your call.

DIRECTIONS
1. Personally, I like to slice my apples (or other fruit) and place them on a plate or in a bowl. Sometimes, I'll mix apples with pineapple or I'll toss in red grapes into the bowl or berries and make it a mixed fruit bowl. Most of the time, I just fix myself a bowl of Fuji apple slices.
2. Then, with a small fork, I’ll enjoy each little bite as I feel the urge to have one. Typically, I’m at my desk working, so this works out great. On the run? Stuff those slices in a zip lock bag and hit the road!
3. Feel free to add something else to go along with your fruit plate/bowl, such as oatmeal, 1-3 boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, Omelette, etc. I personally shy away from breads (i.e., bagels, toast, etc.).
